Home About Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis Print

Excessive sweating. In the localized type, the most frequent sites are the palms, soles, axillae, inguinal folds, and the perineal area. Its chief cause is thought to be emotional. Generalized hyperhidrosis may be induced by a hot, humid environment, by fever, or by vigorous exercise.

When Perspiration Becomes Troublesome

Job interviews, appointments with customers, or festive receptions – all those are customary reasons for a polite handshake. But you may be nervous and are anxious to avoid this gesture because your hands are moist and clammy with perspiration. Approximately 1% of the population is afflicted by excessive perspiration of the armpits, hands, and feet.

The Condition of Hyperhidrosis

Many of the people affected by this medical condition, which is also known as hyperhidrosis, are under the erroneous assumption that there is no cure. Clammy hands – hands moist with perspiration - put a strain on one’s life because they cause a significant level of psychological stress, especially if there is an impact on one’s performance at work.

EVR Treatment

EVR treatment has been scientifically accepted for years. In 98% of cases, it will result in normally dry skin. EVR treatments are completely safe, painless, and have no side effects. Proper treatment is obviously a prerequisite. Minimal paresthesias ( (tingling and burning sensation) during treatment and temporary skin irritation (reddening) are to be expected, however.

EVR Treatment Concepts

For the treatments, hand or foot baths or special axillary applicators are used, which deliver a weak electrical current. The current can be adjusted to the person’s level of sensation. For safety reasons, a maximum current limit cannot be exceeded. The treatment is completely safe.

EVR Treatment Phases

The first phase (initial therapy) is completed under medical supervision and provides an opportunity to learn the technique. After about 10 treatments, sweat secretion will normalize. Health insurance agencies will frequently require proof of the initial treatment being successful. Your physician provides this proof after examining you

The second phase: Because the treatment results are reversible, it is essential to continue these treatments with your own EVR unit at home on a long-term basis. One to three weekly sessions of approximately 10-15 minutes duration are used for maintenance therapy.

EVR Therapeutic Devices

The EVR home therapy units GS CLASSIC and PS PLUS excel in their simplicity of operation, their reliability, and their maximum efficacy. The underlying concept was developed in cooperation with the largest German university hospitals. The device concept meets the highest standards, with special emphasis being paid to safety issues.

Two EVR Treatment Modalities

You can choose between two types of current: Direct Current (GS) and Pulsating Current (PS). For the available treatment techniques, we offer a smart selection of optional accessories perfectly matched to each specific system and application. For details, please refer to the enclosed data sheets.

Contraindications

Patients with cardiac pacemakers, metallic implants, large skin lesions, and pregnant women should refrain from using this type of therapy. Please be absolutely certain to consult your physician if you belong to one of those groups. Ask your dermatologist about EVR therapy.
